Simon Cope, a kiwi entrepreneur, has converted his home in Meadow Bank Auckland into an ‘energy efficient’ almost self-sufficient haven, as an example of what can be done to save energy in the home. He is wildly enthusiastic about his projects and regularly takes guided tours through his home. He installed a Kiwipure system in his house and when I spoke to him a month later he was very pleased with the way it had affected his daughters eczema. She has suffered from eczema for a long time and they have continually applied medicines to combat this very irritating condition. "A good move for the health and comfort of our family"
We installed a Kiwipure system on our incoming water main to our home approximately six months ago and within a couple of days noticed an improvement in the taste. As a family we are now able to fill our drinking water bottles directly from the sink or basin taps and we often consume five or six bottles a day.
Our water had always been quite hard, but within a few days of the system being installed, we noticed the water while showering was lathering a lot easier and my wife commented that her skin and hair were softer. Within a short time we also noticed that towels and sheets were softer after laundering.
The shower is easier to clean and the calcium build up around the jug element has gone down too. Less effort is required to clean out the dog bowl, as the green slime build-up has been significantly reduced.
We believe this has been a good move for the health and comfort of our family.

"We are very impressed with the performance of the new system"
The first week we found the water was noticeably softer, tasted better and black marks in the washing machine had almost disappeared. By the second week the bath water looked bluer, our hair was softer with more volume after washing and we needed less soap, shampoo, conditioner and dish-wash detergent to produce the same lather. By the third week my daughter said the water was now drinkable and the taste had “much improved”. Marks cleaned off bathroom taps and around plugs have not returned. Saucepans cleaned up with fewer discolourations and bed-clothes, towels etc., were noticeably softer.
My wife has noticed her scalp is less itchy and her eczema had improved. She can now drink the water straight from the tap. Previously she disliked the taste of Wanganui water and was not comfortable cooking vegetables in it, thus we purchased water for drinking & cooking. Now our tap water is clean, clear and ‘chemical smell’ free. Brilliant !!

"Both noticed a big improvement in their skin after two weeks"
On 9th November 09 we installed a Kiwipure filtration unit in our home in Brisbane. By 16th November we definitely noticed a change in the taste of our water. Our 5 year old daughter had suffered quite severe dermatitis on both her arms and David had dry skin on his nose, forehead and scalp. Both noticed a big improvement in their skin after two weeks.
By February 2010 our daughter’s arms had cleared up almost totally. Our hair is softer, seems to wash so much easier and our skin is not itching like it used to. Marks in the bathroom from hard water are much easier to clean off and clothes wash better and feel softer!
We had been using a big earthenware bottle to filter all our drinking water and now are drinking water straight from the taps. We both have found big improvements in the water quality especially for cleaning or drinking, with no sign of the chemical smell it used to have. We are very pleased with our ‘new’ soft clean water and highly recommend the Kiwipure system.

Just a quick thank you for recommending and supplying the water purification unit that we recently installed.
The concept of filtering the water at the mains supply instead of just the kitchen sink is brilliant. We are no longer buying bottled water and because the supply is continuous and pure the whole family is drinking more water and less processed drinks. You forget that water should not really have a taste and is naturally refreshing. What’s really neat is that often guests will notice and comment on how nice our water is.
The removal of heavy metals from the water was important to us as we have a daughter who does not deal well with these in her system. The piece of mind your system brings us knowing we are doing something to help our daughters health is huge. Also the copper stains that we were forever cleaning on the bath and basin are not building up anymore.
On a side note we have some pet fish and changing the water used to involve all sorts of chemical tests and aging of the water. No more, your pure water system allows us to just top up the tanks straight from the taps, Brilliant.

Something that’s fantastically awesome for me is the effect on our little dog. He is a very fluffy Cavoodle (Cavalier x Poodle) and before our new system was installed it took me almost an hour to comb him after we bathed him but now it only takes 10 minutes which is great for both of us. Also, his drinking water does not go green and yucky when it’s outside in his bowl even if I don’t change it every day, it still stays fresh! We are so pleased with our lovely soft water and it’s yummy to drink too.”

In November 2010 we had a Kiwipure Whole House Water Treatment system fitted to our house. Our water is supplied by the Western Bay of Plenty Council and is treated with chlorine to disinfect it before it reaches our home. Over the years we have never liked the smell of chlorine we got when we ran a tap or used the shower.
Since having the system installed we have noticed the following benefits: We can turn on any tap in the house without the smell of chlorine; We drink water straight from the tap with relish as it tastes much better; A cup of Earl Grey tea without milk tastes much better and is a pleasure to drink; When showering or washing hands the water is noticeably softer so that we can utilize the soap better. Also our washing powder usage in the washing machine has decreased because the powder is more effective.
